No, you don't need to uninstall Outlook!

Are you sure you are connecting to the correct port?
Also, did you try with different baudrates?
Have you tried with JavaComm or RxTx (one may work).

I don't know the exact cause of this problem, so all the above is just
guesses that you may try out. This "reboot" problem has been reported
only a couple of times during the years and we never got to a safe
conclusion... Sorry.
