Howdy!

As far as i know, you do not need internet to use smslib in order to send
sms, unless of coure you are using a provider to get a gateway...

The biggest advantage about using smslib api, is to use as many cell phones
as possible at once to send sms.
You can also write a code in order to dispatch certain numbers to certain
cell phones.
or to have a pool in order to process as many sms as possible using a multi
thread.

But first you have to be sure about what you really want.
