Good to hear you managed to clear this issue.

The documentation mentions this: 
http://smslib.org/doc/smsserver/interfaces/database/

The default values for the fields should be -1. This ensures that a plain 
text message is created. I guess that setting these two specific db fields 
to NULL somehow led to the creation of a non-standard (i.e. with port 
information) message. Seems like Blackberries are quite sensitive with these 
settings.
