I followed the installation details as stated and used the example 
SendMessage.java they've provided. But I get a long list of log messages 
and then at the end,   "org.smslib.GatewayException: The GSM modem does not 
support the PDU protocol ".

Do you have any idea what the problem might be? I'm using a Falcom Samba75 
Modem and my configuration arguments is as such: 
SerialModemGateway gateway = new SerialModemGateway("modem.com3", "COM3", 
57600, "Siemens", "MC75");
