smslib does not deal with the higher level concepts such as prepaid account, balance, invalid destination etc. Handle the boolean return value from the sendMessage method and also handle all exceptions thrown by this method. This will enable you to deal with device errors, connection errors and also mobile service errors. Monitoring the balance in the prepaid account would be separate activity.
