Hi Ranulph The new batteries don't suffer from the memory effect, so reconditioning doesn't really work. You can charge/discharge completely a few times, then reset the SMC (remove battery & power then hold power button for 10 seconds then reassemble and switch on) to see if that helps. If the battery's still under warranty you can call apple for a replacement.
