I finally took the plunge and crossed over to Leopard.

Lots of nice features. But it seems one feature is lost, and I wonder
if I can get it back.

I use the appearance of icons to help me navigate visually. The new
icons, showing me how the files look, mean I don't see the application
they are associated with, so I can't navigate visually. It's not a
matter of suffixes (.pdf): they don't help because they're not visual.

Is there a way I can get my old icons back? Doesn't seem to be an
option in the finder preferences.
