Thank you all, for your advice. I will give and skype shop&  
'simplyphone' a try. Did look at the Tesco ones but after reading the  
back of packaging it seemed I needed a PC to operate the CD which is  
a real pity as they are SO cheap. but maybe you can plug and play on  
a mac without software...?

I have an Emac and not sure if it has bluetooth.
