The one I bought from Tesco (two years ago) also indicated it was PC-only on the packaging. It was only due to info from someone on SMUG that I knew it was actually a "simply" phone re-badged. Hence throwing away all the software and downloading the OSX drivers from the "simply" website. Without that knowledge I would not have bought that phone.

The internet phones on Tesco's website do not look the same as mine, so perhaps they are no longer badged "simply" phones. I have no way of knowing I'm afraid. But if I needed a replacement for mine I'd certainly go the "simply" website and buy one.

I don't think these USB phones are just plug/play. They seem to need drivers. In reality I think they are actually sound cards built into phone shells.

Thank you all, for your advice. I will give and skype shop& 'simplyphone' a try. Did look at the Tesco ones but after reading the back of packaging it seemed I needed a PC to operate the CD which is a real pity as they are SO cheap. but maybe you can plug and play on a mac without software...?

I have an Emac and not sure if it has bluetooth.

thanks, Linda

Mine is from Simplyphone (www.simplyphone.lu). It looks like its the
"classic" version, but I actually bought it from Tesco where it was
re-badged and sold as an "Internet Phone".

That was a couple of years ago and after a recommendation from someone
here at SMUG. After using the drivers (on the CD) I just didn't use the
remaining software that comes with the phone. I've since downloaded
updated Simplyphone drivers (a system called Call-Me) from their website
and its worked perfectly since the day I got it. I can't vouch for the
Tesco internet phone being the same re-badged model now though - but you
could probably order directly from Simplyphones.

Failing that, the Skype online shop has a specific Mac section of phones
I think.
