Hi. Don't part exchange it, even if you find a dealer that will. You won't get what it's worth. As for the private sale value, around the £350.00 - £400.00 would be about right, bearing in mind you can buy brand new iMacs for £770.00.
The best way to sell it is to make up your own advert and take it round the local colleges/Uni's and ask reception if you can stick it on their notice boards. I've sold a couple of my older Macs that way and have sold them very quickly. You'd also be best to keep it out so any interested buyer can come and see it working. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if/when you're ready to buy the new one. I'll do you a good deal. ________________________ DARREN TERRY UK Sales Manager Cancom Ltd Apple Premium Reseller Email: [email protected] _____ From: Russell Brown [mailto:[email protected]] To: Smug [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wed, 04 Feb 2009 17:09:09 +0000 Subject: [sussex_mug] Ball park? Hi all Thinking about upgrading my iMac later this year. Currently I have a G5 iSight 20" with maxed out RAM (from Crucial). Its about 3 years old. Nothing wrong with it but I'm thinking I might upgrade to an Intel machine. Obviously I'd do a clean install of OS with updates after over-writing the disk with zeroes several times before selling. But I have no idea how much I could get for it. Do people do part exchange? What do you think? ----------------------------------------------- www.manorparksurgery.com www.thebrownstuff.blogspot.com ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
