Some years ago I backed up my iTunes folder to DVDs manually
(before the automatic system). I just discovered that one of my
all-time favourite albums had inexplicably disappeared (Clan of
Xymox, for anyone interested...) from my iTunes library. Luckily
it seems to be on this manual backup.

So I think I will back up the 80 gigs again. I understand that
iTunes keeps track of which ones are backed up and will do later
incremental backups -- is that right? I'd rather do it manually
as before than risk something being missed. Anyone seen any
problems with this 'automatic' method?

I have a hard drive back-up too but of course that gets updated
and this album seems to have somehow got lost some time ago, so
it's not there either...

(back-up, back-up, back-up...). I'm glad the days I spent doing
it have been vindicated. kind of....!
