That's true but it misses the point of principle that Jason opened the group
as a gesture to the community to share our solutions, and it was closed
without any discussion at the behest of a commercial concern. The other
point as that these offers are widely distributed across google's index.
Also it would be easy to create a sub group for people to subscribe to
these.

One other consideration is that if people are aware that their words are
archived in perpetuity it should restrain some of the more extreme posters
we've seen in the past when it was closed.

Its a shame that it has come down to a series of monosyllabic  "open" or
"closed" messages when there are plenty of decent survey monkeys like the
one used to elect our current dictator ;)
