Given that a few would like to keep the special offers available, I'm looking into a mechanism whereby Tom Coady could handle the workload of verifying membership on applications for the discounts (which I don't have time to do). The National MUG crowd are putting quite a lot of work into this, with the added advantage that it's taken more seriously by software sellers, thus more interesting discounts seem to be on the way (all this happened towards the end of last week so it's surprisingly topical).
For now I've opened the archive since there are no pending offers and by the time we get any, there should be a mechanism for keeping to their requirements. In other words, the whole thing solved itself and if I had not asked for a poll when I did, it would have been irrelevant! Sometimes my timing sucks, but there you go.
