I have been wondering about buying one of the 24 inch monitors to go with my now sadly dated aluminium Mac book (2.4 GHz core 2, 4 gig RAM). use a lot of applications at the same time, especially MacSpeech Dictate (which is very sensitive to spare CPU cycles). I have been saving up for the 600 quid 24 inch monitor but have now started wondering whether I would get much more performance out of an iMac with a screen that size. I know that performance can sometimes depend on less obvious aspects of the architecture. So do the experts think that an iMac with similar memory and core would give me noticeably better performance than the Mac book (which is always less snappy when it's running a big extra display -- I currently have a 17 inch one).
Every day since I bought it I have wished it had an SD card slot!.... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
