some experience: firstly, I have found that an external disk hooked up to a base station seems more likely to corrupt. 2) a lot of 'network out of the box' drives with ethernet connection are FAT-formatted. This had the peculiar effect in my case when I bought one that when I purchased something from iTunes, I could see it while downloading but then it got lost as it completed, meaning I had no download any more. Never got to the bottom of that but it was reliable. I have ended up with a drive connected to an imac, which works but of course requires that the iMac be on all the time I want to use it. This turned out to be the least inconvenient though. I'm sure others have been more successufl than me! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
