Hi Nigel Just to check your HD directory structures are ok, restart in single user mode (hold command + S at startup) then type : fsck -fy
Then try deleting the file manually. If that doesn't work, open terminal and type : sudo rm -fr Then drag the mystery file into the terminal window and push return, type your password and it should get deleted.
