thanks for this. It's made things more confusing:-) serialnumberinfo claims I have gigabit ethernet but I'm sure I don't. (wikipedia says that was introduced Aug 2007 and that my warranty ran out in Aug 2008, and it was built in March 2007.
Is there a way of checking (ie if I plug it in, is there something that can verify the speed?).
