I use VirtualBox. The way I got printing to work was;

1. I VirtualBox click on Settings, Ports, USB, Enable USB Controller
if not enabled and then add a USB Device Filter for your printer.
2. In WinXP instal the print driver for your printer

When you run WinXP it will see the USB devices that you have filtered
and you'll be able to print.

Parallels does it for you so that you don't have to fiddle about.
