Hi Malcolm,
Are you sure that this is a real error, rather than a browser popup? It
would help if you are able to take a screenshot or otherwise copy the text
of the error message, should it happen again.
Depending on your router (I presume you're using wifi?) you should be able
to get a list of clients - if you can give us the make and model that could
be looked up.
