Hi Sam

It's not the whole drive just a specific folder in MyDocuments. I sort of assumed though that any subfolders created in it would have the same permissions unless otherwise set.

Definitely not a good idea to set permissions for an entire hard drive, there are very specific permissions that need to be set in all the System and Library folders to allow the system user access to the right files. Only ever change your user folder permissions and even then with caution!
