Hi guys,

I am about to pass my four year old G5, (Running Tiger.) to a friend, and want to make sure my personal data is no longer on the machine.

Just looking for a sanity check here regarding the process I intend to follow:

* launch Disk Utility, select the hard drive, select security option, then erase all data.

* Boot from the original system install disc and do an "Erase & Install" of OS X.

If I then wanted to download Tiger updates to get him back up to the latest spec, would I be compromising my security by logging on to my ISP to do this? (Would it be best leaving him to install the updates.)

Have I missed anything here?

Thanks,

Steve.
