Also from the install disc you can backup your entire harddisk from disk 
utility to save _Everything_ (incase you missed some files due to stress to get 
the machine up and running again).
Could just be some other thing than the hdd - but boot into the install disc 
(preferably original one) and you'll be able to save most things from there.
