Thought I'd try one last time late last night. Checked that all traces
of BusyCal were removed from my computer, downloaded and reinstalled
software (for I don't know how many times). The only thing I did
differently was, after copying the download into my applications
folder, I then put an alias on the dock and launched from there.
Whether that had anything to do with it, I don't know but success. The
application launched successfully and my serial number was requested.
Seconds later and the calendars were back with all the events copied
from iCal.
As an aside the one thing I couldn't do was to subscribe to UK
holidays on iCalShare (http://icalshare.com/calendars/49). The holiday
appeared in my list of subscriptions but had a white circle with a
grey background and an exclamation mark inside the grey area. I am
assuming that this means that the subscription has been unsuccessful.
As it is a MobileMe subscription from Apple I am slightly confused. It
works perfectly in iCal. In fact I deleted it in Busycal, closed that
application, and opened iCal and subscribed from there. That was
successful and when iclosed iCal and reopened Busycal, all the
holidays were there but the exclamation mark (as described above) was
still present.
Not a major issue but, being a perfectionist, I don't want exclamation
marks on my calendar.
Does anyone have any ideas?
BTW a great big thank-you to all who helped solve yesterday's conundrum.
