I'm not sure about the non-glossy screens, which I think, as non optional,
can't be bought over the counter in an apple store. I don't recollect seeing
these screens (which are very nice: I've got one).

There are different educational discounts, and the sotres can only give the
smallest of them, which is for people involved in education. If your
institution is a signed on apple institution, then, if you order as an
institutional member the discount is much greater: I was astonished, and kicked
myself for not having discovered this before.

If you're buying as an individual, cancom also do an educational discount: have
a look there, too.

Finally, the biggest discount of all, bar buying as an institutional member, is
at Heathrow. You won't find these prices on the internet, but they are
typically about 15% lower than shop prices. Terminals 3 and 5 have them: others
may too. You need a dixons or a PC World (where they actually have mini PCW
apple stores and even people who seem to know a bit). To buy, you just have to
be a traveller (ie, no outside the EU requirement) and you can have the item
delivered to you at home.
