ok, so I am soon completing a couple of annoyingly long train journeys with an
Apple keyboard andiPhone and here are thoughts for any who want to try it.

firstly, we desperately need a way to somehow mount the iphone on the back of a
seat of a train or something like that. I imagine a thing that magically sticks
to the seat in front:-)

secondly, make sure you turn the keyboard off fully before shoving it in your
bag. I was getting very confused at the fact that the brightness kept going to
zero *and you could see the symbol for this*. I thought at first that I had
accidentally found some keyswipe to do it. No - the keyboard was having its
keys pressed in my bag

thirdly - the apple function keys work as expected, where feasible. brigtness,
volume, start-stop iTunes in the background.

what we want now is programmable function keys and keyboard shortcuts for
"send' or "new message" (etc). and it'd be great to assign Mail to F1, Safari
to F2 etc.

but currently, if you can touch-type (I can but it's still weird not seeing
what I am typing), it's rather handy....

NB you need to be able to turn it off for one other reason. If the keyboard is
connected, the built-in one does not appear, to sawe sreen space.

which becomes a bit annoying if the keyboard is at the bottom of your bag and
you want to send a text!
