I am attempting to sort out a website for my club and have hit something of a brick wall, no doubt caused by my inexperience and lack of knowledge..

The story so far …

I put together a website using iWeb.

I then visited www.whois.com and found that the domain name I wanted was available and purchased it. The idea was to have my website hosted on MobileMe. So far, so good. However when I attempted to set up my Personal Domain on MobileMe, I was instructed to

Go to your registrar's website. Define web.me.com as the "www" CNAME (alias) for your domain.
If you need help creating a CNAME, contact your registrar.

This I did and finally, after email help from their support desk in some faraway land, I was then presented with:

Click A Records and in the next screen, click Add A Record.

There you would find 3 fields:

Host Name: Here the domain name, for which you are adding the A Record for, would be pre-filled (e.g. yourdomainname.com). Now, if you wish to add an A Record for my.yourdomainname.com, then you would have to put in my the text box. If you wish to add A Record for just yourdomainname.com, then you can leave this box blank.

Destination IPv4 Address: Here you would have to enter the IPv4 IP Address of the Web Server, where you wish to host this domain name.

TTL: This is the Time To Live for this Record, in seconds. Any Server which once queries this Record will query it again after this time interval. The ideal TTL is 86400, which is 1 day. It can not be set to less than 14400, i.e., 4 hours.

Click the Add Record button to submit your Record.

Herein lies the problem. I do not know what the IPv4 IP Address refers to. MobileMe is presumably where I wish to host the domain name but …

Can anyone help? I am under the cosh at the moment as we have to get this website up and running as we have an Open Day and an Open Race Meeting in late September and need to have our website live. I really don't want to wait for their email support to come back in another day or two.
