I essentially use my old G5 as a media player in the living room and all
the media lives in the kitchen/office. I could save space by having an
AppleTV there instead except that then I would need a TV and I don't
have one;-) now that we have Airplay coming, that seems even easier. But
am I right that the Appletv is essentially a converter/receiver to run
stuff to a TV output rather than anything else? Is it basically
defeating its purpose to find a way to connect it to a monitor?
That G5 is on the way out (flakey flakey flakey) and I'd rather not buy
a new computer just to watch the odd film. Am I going to have to go full
circle and get AppleTV/a screen with TV inputs now?
