The air is the way, and the prices are better now too.
I had a look at them today, its nice how they've done the 11" keyboard.
 Basically the letters and space bar are all the same size as the regular
keyboard, but the F keys and the cmd/option/apple keys around the edge are a
bit smaller.  So typing wise its great!

Downsides - for the really picky :-)
It doesn't have a backlit keyboard any more
It doesn't seem to have an option for a non-glossy display

I have always custom ordered the matt screen where possible on my laptops,
however the iPad is also obviously a glossy screen so theres no escaping it.
 Neither of those are deal breakers, unless the old macbook air had a matt
display?
