Hi NIck,

This is a bit puzzling. LS9  needs 10.5.7 or later but can upgrade on top of LE 
or Logic BIg Box (which is definitely PPC).  Apple don't sell Leopard any more 
so surely LE (and indeed,Big Box) can run on Snow Leopard!

As for the os I mean.  Snow leopard is pure intel with Rosetta while leopard 
was 
a mix. This might be the issue. (sorry for two emails I  accidentally pressed
