I believe that the T&Cs suggest you can instal software bought from the Mac App 
Store on an unlimited number of systems although this may be limited to just 
your household/Apple ID account billing information details.

Having used the App Store I think it works pretty smoothly. The issue of 
whether it recognises an app already installed, or not, is dependent on whether 
the version number can be recognised. It's got some kinks which I guess will be 
ironed out as the number of products build up.

Did someone say that macupdate was an app store? New one on me if that's the 
case. What did I miss as I've used it extensively for many years?
