Apparently you have all received a private message about a very recent
offlist tussle.
I moderated someone because they lied to at least one other list member
privately about being banned (which was untrue). That was the reason,
and the only reason.
Any time you (the list) want me to resign, let me know;)
But please, unless someone is serious about coming forward as a new
list-admin, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE NOR TO ANY PRIVATELY
SENT MESSAGE about the list, on the list.
Perpetuating 'noise' does not bring noise to an end. And noise damages
lists.
I repeat, *please do not respond* unless you wish to step forward as a
new moderator, and then we'll have a serious discussion.
Otherwise please help me in my efforts to let a tussle die down.
I accept that, after a long period of working long hours, I may have
given rise to a bad-tempered thread. I believe I acknowledged this on
the list. I let the poster have the last word before calling an Admin
halt and accept that I may have misjudged things. I then made a
judgement call about calling a thread to a halt. Perhaps that was also
wrong. It's done now.
If you wish to speak to me privately, then you know my email but please
be aware that I am currently working 15-hour days, with no end in sight,
and have done for about six months and I may not get a chance to reply.
I will moderate any "my view is better than yours because it is" threads
in just the same way in future (but try not to start them off again!)
Otherwise, let's please get back to normal;)
