Dear Smuggers, My MacBook (black Intel 2 core duo 2GHz) has just shut down and it won't re-boot. At the time I was watching streaming video.
The first time I tried to start it I got the grey screen with the Apple logo and the spinning symbol but it never got any further. I disconnected all the peripherals and tried again. This time the screen went grey for a few seconds and then it powered down. Now it won't do anything else. I've tried booting it with the OSX DVD but the same thing happens. I'm at a loss and hoping that it isn't my venerable MacBook running up the White flag. I was hoping it would last until the summer when my finances should have improved!
