I have in past two hours upgraded to SSD , I have put the old disk into a sata II external case and now use that for my movies etc. All I have installed software wise are pages, iphoto etc etc
The speed is phenomenal applications open up almost instantly, the boot speed is superb. The main point is if you want to upgrade by a SSD.
