OK I bought a Qubz adapter and it fixed the issue but only temporarily.

The macbook now won't start at all if the battery is connected but starts OK
if the battery is taken out.

Obviously there is either an issue with the battery or the charging circuit
for the battery. Is there an easy way to determine which?

Thanks
