@Toby
Have you tried your scanner with Image Capture, instead of its own
software? My scanner came with its own software (PowerPC too) but
I've stopped using it and Image Capture works just fine.

Im fully expecting loads of apps I rely on to break,
and the whole OS to be unstable until 10.7.1 is released, but then
its all part of the fun isn't it :-)
I know i will have to finally say goodbye to my scanner and
its powerpc scanning drivers/software, but thats the only legacy
hardware I have been clinging onto.
I can see the release day whenever it is being a big old day
of downloading the software, then the developer tools, re-doing
adobe etc. Ive already taken a full carbon copy cloner backup
in preparedness.

I normally upgrade my laptop (MacBookPro) to
anything new and try it out before committing on
our two main businesses computers (Mac Pro and
iMac). But my MBP is one of the first, with a Core
Duo and not a Core 2 Duo processor, and it
therefore can't run Lion. I wouldn't want to
upgrade one of our main computers early, just in
case we run into problems and we're still running
old MS Office programs for some work. Without
Rosetta, they won't work. So, we'll be sittting
this one out for a few months and watching the
fun.

Well, the reason I changed
my dear old iMac for this one is for Lion, so it
will be on here as soon as I can get it - warts
and all. I'll let you know if it crashes and
burns ...
All this talk of extra RAM in the Apple
Store Macs make my decision to go with 12GB of
RAM seem even more useful. ;-)
