The download is going unusually slow for me, so I might swing past the apple
store on the way home from work to grab their cached version.

I only have about 30Gb free space, but I have done all the permissions
repair type stuff I can think of in anticipation, and have a full image
backup.

Im quite interested to watch how it switches the boot partition around to
the new OS from the old one in one self contained app, i imagine it works a
bit like how the bootcamp prep utility thing does.
