HI Barry Does she have any applications set to open at login? Check System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. Did she save the audio as an MP3? When you say the music plays, does it play through Quicktime Player, iTunes or Safari?
Have you updated to Lion yet? It auto-resumes applications when you restart.
