Certain 1TB Seagate drives are prone to failure (anyone remember the original Seagate MacBook hard drives?) and can be replaced free of charge at an Authorised Service Centre. Be sure to make a full Time Machine backup first though as they're unlikely to transfer your data to the new drive.
