Hi all, I left for a week's holiday on the day of Lion's release … hey ho, but I installed it yesterday and it all went flawlessly.
One day after the install I've almost got used to the reverse scroll, my error rate has dropped to only about 30% I think! Thanks for the Library view shortcut tips and the Dropbox update which seems to be working nicely so far. I downloaded some extra voices and now have my system voice set to Serena who sounds a bit like a BBC newsreader - the quality of the voice synthesis is extraordinary compared to the old ones from Snow Leopard. The downloads are quite a size. I downloaded Virginie, a French voice, and it sounds pretty good when reading text but what a mess if you feed her some English prose! ;-) I've just started trying out the Tokens in the Mail search and so far they look incredibly useful and I've not even read the help. Nice. The whole OS to me feels really polished and the animations everywhere make for a really smooth and enjoyable feel to the entire experience - overall I really love it … but: 1Password is still weird with Safari (you will need the latest version) and is totally broken on OmniWeb which means that for now I'm having to use Safari which is not what I'd like (thought the left & right history swipe is neat). Sigh. Also, I have the monochromatic lump of icons in the Finder sidebar so I'll be writing to Apple on that. There are a number of interface glitches and oddities too. I still feel that I've so much to learn to make the most of what seems a really feature-rich release. (Sorry to hear about a right royal mess up on Apple's server side Sam) Cheers, Stephen On 20 Jul 2011, at 20:40, Sam - MacAmbulance wrote: > All app store purchases are authenticated using files inside the App (right > click > show package contents) : > > _MASReceipt > receipt > _CodeSignature > CodeSignature > > Regards > > Sam > MacAmbulance > Providing affordable Apple & PC services > > Sam Mullen > 07747 778022 > http://www.macambulance.co.uk > [email protected] > > > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Sussex Mac User Group" group. > To post to this group, send an email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/smug?hl=en-GB.
