Evening All

Been working on a problem all day and wonder if some one might be able to point
me in the right direction.

I upgraded my 2009 MBP to Lion the day it came out. Since then I've been
experiencing intermittent "slowness" however over the last few days it has
become unusable.

I traced one issue back to AGAAdminService which is linked to Citrix however
despite killing this I was still have application lockups across the board.

I decided to wipe my OS X partition (the other partition being for BootCamp)
and do a clean install. After moving various files that weren't backed up
elsewhere (curses for Lion breaking TimeMachine to HP MediaSmartservers) I
booted into Lion's recovery partition (command R) and tried to erase the
partition to no avail (received File System Formatter errors); I then tried to
delete the partition, this time receiving messages about not being able to
unmount the volume. I eventually managed to delete the partition (infect I
eventually deleted all partitions) and format a new journaled drive using my
Snow Leopard install DVD. However I cannot install SL onto the drives it
constantly fails with a yellow exclamation.

I have tried resizing the drive down from 320gb to 310gb as a couple of forums
suggested that might work but it still fails.

I'm at the point of thinking there must be a fault with the HDD, DVD drive or
the DVDs themselves.

Has anyone come across this before or got any ideas of what I could try next?

Thanks in anticipation

Al
