For anyone interested, I'm in the process of setting up a brand-new, purchased from the online store, iMac 21.5" 2.7Ghz i5.
Pre-installed with Lion. No disks or USB Key stick in the box, just a 'Recovery Disk' showing if starting holding 'alt.' Probably possible to do a customised install but, to be honest, CBA. Migrated User Data, Applications and Setting from his old PowerMac G5 Tower's hard drive (the tower has died, hence the replacement.) Applications that ARE working: Netscape 9 (no, seriously!) Entourage, Word, Excel & PowerPoint from Office 2008. Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint from Office 2011. Adobe Creative Suite 3. (He has a copy of CS4 he wants me to install.) Adobe Creative Suite 4. (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, InDesign Acrobat Pro) Weirdly, the updater won't work as its PPC code however the Updater from CS3 did work??????? GraphicConverter 6.4 Toast Titanium 9.05 Linotype FontExplorer X 1.2.3 Applications that ARE NOT working: Adobe Reader 9 Updater The Creative Suite thing is quite useful as I've heard that 'unofficial' copies of CS 5.5 have been reverted to 'Trial' versions in the past couple of days leaving their users with 30 days to test the software. Quite a brilliant marketing tool in a way! On a slightly different subject; I have an old Epson CX6600 AIO device that never worked properly under Snow Leopard. Scanning was always an inelegant faff. Under Lion it works like a dream. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
