Because of warnings on this forum and elsewhere, I turned off my iPhone (right off, not just sleeping) at Gatwick before flying to Croatia. There was £17 credit on the phone and the battery was fully charged. When I got back to Gatwick 5 days later, there was no credit left on the phone and the battery was dead. The only reason I took the phone with me was so that I could call airport parking about collecting the car. Nobody used the phone while we were abroad and it was left in the hotel safe. How could this have happened? The good news is that when I phoned Tesco this morning they have put £17 back on the phone but were unable to explain why/how this has happened.
