We've got a big cheese grater Power Mac G5 that we want to use for some storage work.

It's got two bays for hard drives, one occupied with the original stock drive. I thought we should be able to get a 1TB drive and stick that in the second bay.

However my colleague has pointed out this doc from Apple, which says:

        Support for up to two internal Serial ATA drives;
        500GB maximum system capacity

http://support.apple.com/kb/sp96

Can this be right? Why would that be? Is it possibly a limitaion of the OS at the time (10.2 Jaguar), which wouldn't apply under Leopard?

Advice gratefully received,

Ben
