MacKeeper is absolute rubbish, avoid at all costs. I've seen it take up 99% CPU for weeks before my client called me and asked what could be slowing his Mac down.
Unless your Mac's doing odd things, there's no need for maintenance software (in my opinion!). They generally keep themselves optimised and badly written third-party software can do more harm than good. If you need to, use Onyx or MacPilot.
