Hi I've recently had to format my hard disk and re-install and then restore my profile from Time Machine. All in all quite a painless process, they only trouble is now Time Machine wants to do a 390gb backup (approximately the size of all my documents). So it looks like Time Machine thinks I have a completely new set of files and worse still I deleted a document before re-installing and so it is in the 'history' of my Time Machine and not in the latest copy and I can't go back through the star field. The date of the very first backup appears in the timeline on the right hand side of the star field screen but it is in purple and when I navigate back through time the folders within my home folder have little no-entry signs.
I'm assuming that Time Machine now thinks I'm a completely new user with a whole load of new files that need to be backed up. Is there anyway around this?
