I don't normally read the Guardian online or printed but had a look online now in Safari 5.1.7 (on Lion 10.7.4) and it looks just fine.
I have not noticed any problems on any sites other than the very occasional glitch which happens now and then on the Interweb but nothing with a pattern to it.
