Activate mission control either by launching the application from Applications 
or your dock or by gesture (probably 4 fingers upwards)
Move the mouse/pointer to the top right of the screen and a 'desktop' pokes out 
with a + on it. Click it and it adds a new desktop. Add as many as (I suppose) 
memory allows ...
