Hold Alt to see your user Library, the system library is in Macintosh HD > System > LIbrary, which is where the kext files are stored. It's best not to manually alter anything in the /System folder as you could break OS X completely, requiring a complete reinstall.
Try downloading the HP printer drivers from the Apple support website and see if that resolves the problem.
