Well I had been really looking forward to being able to dictate my emails, letters etc and so upgraded yesterday to ML only to find everything you speak for typing gets sent to Apple who presumably have thousands of typists sitting in a bunker waiting for people to use the software! And what's this about trying to understand one's relationships within one's contacts!
Here's part of the blurb you can find in Sys Prefs......there's more should you wish to read it When you use the keyboard dictation feature on your computer, the things you dictate will be recorded and sent to Apple to convert what you say into text. Your computer will also send Apple other information, such as your first name and nickname; and the names, nicknames, and relationship with you (for example, “my dad”) of your address book contacts. All of this data is used to help the dictation feature understand you better and recognize what you say. Your User Data is not linked to other data that Apple may have from your use of other Apple services Anyone else find this rather an invasion of one's privacy? There seems to be a presumption by Apple that we all trust them implicitly. Nick -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
