Hi Ranulph A distribution list would be a group of people that you email to. From a quick look at the Contacts app in Mountain Lion (formerly Address Book), it looks like printing specific addresses is controlled by going to File > Print > Select Style : (either Mailing Labels or Envelopes) > Click the Label tab > Set Addresses to the one you want to print. I'm not sure if you can restrict it per person though, if you want to do that you'll have to do multiple print commands.
